You need to have the console assigned as /dev/lft0. Then you'll also need
the wyse terminfo files installed on to the server. It might be an idea to
script a check in the root .profile ( ensure it works first before moving
into place !) where if TTY=/dev/lft0 then TERM=wy50. You may also need to
    install the 3.2 compatbiliy fileset.

There is no reason why this shouldn't work. The only other thing i can think
of is cable connectiions and pin outs.

    Julie,

What exactly do you mean by "can not use smit/smitty"?

    Do you see nothing?
       does everything else seem okay?
what about vi - does it behave properly?
make sure $TERM is set correctly
       (TERM=vt100; export TERM)

Do you see lines that do not line up properly?
make sure $TERM is set correctly
       (TERM=vt100; export TERM)

Are you unable to used the Function keys?
try ESC-3 instead of F3, ESC-0 instead of F10, etc.
