    James,

I tried the ssa_format command before, but it didn't seem to do anything (I
got a prompt back in less than one second).

I tried it again just now and got the same response however I immediately
ran it again on the same disk (which I hadn't done before) and got the
    following message:

    ssa_format: pdisk5 is being formatted.

Does this mean it formats the drive in the background? How do I know when
it's done? Will this be enough to effectively remove the data on the disk
(e.g.: can no longer perform an importvg)

I don't have any documentation for the command so any input will be
    appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bill Thompson
