I had a strange issue today where only one user could not FTP, I get a
connected but no ftp prompt. After much digging we moved the .netrc file
    and everything cleared up.

    My question is:

Is there a line limit for the .netrc file? I had 140 entries.

    OS-4.3.3 ML10
    M80 hardware 100MB
The user ID is a file net ID, nothing special about the setup, no ftpuser
file is on either system. Also to note, I could not ftp connect to a
mainframe, AS400, NT or another RS6000 server they all did the same thing.
    Thanks in advance.
    Vince
