Your in luck, I've just been on a Tivoli Workload Scheduler course. This
will do all you need and more. It does cost though. The cost will all
depend on what kind of discount you get from your IBM salesperson. From
what I've seen so far, it does appear to be very good.

    Thanks

    Steven

    Simon,

The requirements are basically restart ability with error logging and job
statistics. I thought about scripting a wrapper for them but this has
potential to be thousands of jobs and the scripting could get rather ugly.
The Tivoli solution might be an option also.

    Thanks

It sounds like you're after a scheduling package: something more
powerful than cron but without spending significant amounts - or any?
          - money. Is that right?

If so, what features do you require?

If your needs are really basic you should be able to cope adequately
by writing a wrapper script, to invoke your jobs and provide simple
          job-flow.

Is anyone using or even heard of an AIX job streaming program? What
I need to do is cron 1 job, or a job streamer that will launch
multiple jobs. We are trying to consolidate some of our batch
           processing.
