We have a dozen IBM P655 servers, each with a 1 gigabit copper ethernet
card. We want to have failover and redundant paths to the world, but the
price for that card was over $1,200.00 each.
Has anyone ever succeeded installing a 3rd party gigabit card in a similar
system? Where did you get the drivers? Did IBM Hardware support have any
problem with that?
I have heard of 3rd party memory being used, but what about PCI ethernet
cards?
Thanks
