    yes. PCI-X is backwards compatible with PCI

    btw. I believe if you put the LP9002L card in a 32bit slot, it will
    negotiate at 1GB/sec also:
    remember that any PCI-X bus you put a card into will operate down to the
    lowest common denominator, so if you put a 33Mhz card in a PCI-X slot, all
    cards on that bus will run at 33Mhz
