    UPDATE

I eventually got past the dead paths issue, but encountered the "no good
copies of the VGDA" error and could not mount any filesystems. I could
importvg the volume, lsfs showed the filesystems (sounds like a good VGDA
so far!!) but I couldnt mount anything, nor could I even run fsck. The
error was saying "...device open fail"

The problem seems to have disappeared after upgrading to 5.2 ML03.

    Bob,

You shouldn't keep getting the LUNZ devices. If you do a lsdev -C array
do you see a the following output:

sp0 Available CLARiiON SP CX600 Model

Also with the Clariion a lun is visible across both SP's. It is active on
one SP, and capable of failing over to the SP.

Do you have navicli installed? If so, run the following navicli commands
    and post the output.

    # navicli -h $IP OF YOUR SP$ port -list all

    # navicli -h $IP OF YOUR SP$ storage -list

Thanks for the reply Ralph, I hear ya on the LUNZ devices....the curious
thing is they continue to show up, even after I delete them and run cfgmgr

I'm not LB across the SPs and thanks for that info. Correct me if I'm
wrong, but I think each hba is only zoned for a single SP, they should both
    see both SPs

    Bob,

Did you get your powerpath Clariion issue figured out?

In regards to the LUNZ devices that show up in your lsdev, go ahead and
delete them. They only show up when you first get zoned to the clariion
and have not yet been assigned a storage group.

Also did you know that you can not load balance across clariion SP's? From
you powermt output I noticed that you where connected to two different
SP's. Just wanted to make sure you where not trying to load balance...

Thanks Patrick, I came in this morning only to find my two fc paths dead.
Even after stopping/starting the agent, powermt config, and rebooting, they
only come back alive for about 10 minutes, then they go dead?

    I would do a;

    chdev -l hdiskpower0 -a pv=clear,
chdev -l hdiskpower0 -a pv=yes, to reinit your pvid, then
    recreatevg -y vg_name hdiskpowername.

I just had to do this, this morning. This command will do importvg and a
    varyonvg too.

Anybody seen anything similiar to this or have any insight? Help much
    appreciated on this!

After a 5.1->5.2 upgrade, I found that I cannot import the volume group
which resides on a CX600 LUN. I have flashed the fcX adapters with the
latest microcode, andh here are the EMC software versions:
    PowerPath 3.0.4.0
    NaviAgent 6.2.0.6
    CLArray 5.2.0.7

This is the error I'm getting:
    [root@nad0019aixd05/home/root]# importvg -y oraclevg hdiskpower0
0516-024 lqueryvg: Unable to open physical volume.
Either PV was not configured or could not be opened. Run
            diagnostics.
0516-024 lqueryvg: Unable to open physical volume.

            diagnostics.
0516-1140 importvg: Unable to read the volume group descriptor area
            on specified physical volume.

    powermt display dev=all shows this:
