    Patrick,

    I have a feeling that the problem is hardware related (drives, etc) as you indicate. I currently have the machine unplugged to let everything cool off, then will see what happens upon power up.

    I've seen the 0518 LED code on a system when there was no bootable device available. You might try booting to a diag CD and running a certify on your drives and controllers.

      Hello *

      We have a Motorola RS6000 running IBM AIX 4.3.3 that fails to boot completely.

      The LED code is 518.

      http://www.pimpworks.org/ibm/aixled.html defines this code as "Remote Mount of the root and /usr file systems failed during network boot".

      Has anyone seen this condition before and what have you done to recover from this?
