    ypwhich
ypwhich: 1831-167 the domainname has not been set on this machine.

    Guys,
I have switched on the ftp logging and the messages that are being
    shown are as follows

    Jun 25 10:10:35 aq6006 ftpd[46312]: connection from ::ffff:10.14.10.240
    at Fri Jun 25 10:10:35 2004 Jun 25 10:10:35 aq6006 ftpd[46312]:

    Jun 25 10:10:39 aq6006 ftpd[46312]: command: PWD^M Jun 25 10:10:39
    aq6006 ftpd[46312]: <--- 530 Jun 25 10:10:39 aq6006 ftpd[46312]: Please
    login with USER and PASS.
    Jun 25 10:10:52 aq6006 ftpd[46312]: command: QUIT^M Jun 25 10:10:52
    aq6006 ftpd[46312]: <--- 221 Jun 25 10:10:52 aq6006 ftpd[46312]:
    Goodbye.

The abnormality I have observed is that I see a ^M character after each
and every command. This happend when I try to connect from Windows
mahcine or even Unix machine also.

    Any thoughts on this..

    TIA

Turn on ftp debug in hopes of receiving more info

    Inetd.conf
ftp stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/sbin/ftpd ftpd -l

    syslog.conf
    daemon.info /var/adm/ftplog

    refresh both src's.

    Can you scp?
