Unused processors may be used if you have available memory and IO. If you use these processors you will not have a extra in a failure unless you have CUoD processors. CUoD processors should not be used. License agreements may vary, but, you will not have access to those for a great length of time. After a reboot when they have been flagged as unlicensed, they will not allocate to the LPAR.

Subject: [aix-l] Using Standby Processors on a p690

    Hi *,

Is there any problem using standby processors on a p690 series to make a new LPAR?

Is there any gap concerning this?

    Regards for all...
