Is the SDD / RDAC conflict you mention documented anywhere? Have you had problems with this?
Thanks for the responses. I'll try to answer all of the questions posed...
We have one HBA in the server. It is zoned so that it can see both the FASTt and the Shark. All 3 of the FASTt LUNS are on the same controller and I did verify that they were mapped properly. I believe cabling is fine as all the connectivity to the Shark and the other two FAStT luns appears fine. Based on the lsdev output cfgmgr is actually seeing the 3rd LUN enough to make it defined but not available.

you must have seperate FC cards for the fastt. you can not present ESS and
FASTT LUNs to the same adapters. SDD and RDAC will battle.

Subject: FAStT connected AIX host
This is probably a simple question but I can't seem to find the answer. Any
help would be greatly appreciated....
We have connected an AIX 5.2 ML3 system to our FASTt 600. We defined 3
LUNS: 20GB, 80GB, and 160GB. When you run cfgmgr it recognizes the 20 and
80 GB LUNS fine but it has problems with the 160GB. It can't seem to
configure it and it appears to use a different driver. This machine is also
connected to an ESS Shark so it does have the 2105 filesets and SDD
installed as well. We have another server connected to the same FASTt that
has a bunch of 400GB LUNS that work fine.
The disks look like this with lsdev -C. hdisk63 is the 160GB LUN.
hdisk62 Available 10-78-01 1722-600 (600) Disk Array Device
hdisk63 Defined 00-00-00-00 2102-F10 Disk Array Device
hdisk64 Available 10-78-01 1722-600 (600) Disk Array Device
The output that we get when we run cfgmgr is:
> cfgmgr -i .
Method error (/etc/methods/cfgfdar -l dar0 ):
0514-061 Cannot find a child device.
Method error (/usr/lib/methods/scsimap >> /var/adm/essmap.out):
0514-023 The specified device does not exist in the
customized device configuration database.
