    has anyone used "defrags" ?
    where can I get this.

    Boot off CD. Go to maintenance mode. Access rootvg without mount file system
    and then run fsck

      ... You just run 'defragfs /yourfs', and it'll defrag the FS for you. ... Not sure I see how that helps, unless as Simon has stated, since /var is pretty busy, those are spurious errors due to the fact that the filesystem was being written to when fsck was run, and you're thinking the FS is just fragmented... ... any ideas to fix filesystem /var? ...
