We looked at it 6-9 months ago. IBM marketing was pushing it hard. In
my opinion, it is not ready for prime time, i.e. production. I would
like to hear from customers who are actually using it with success in
Production. It's a neat concept, just don't want to be the first to go
    live with it :).

    Hello All,
This may be a bit off topic but I need some feedback on this. We are
primarily an HP9000/EMC shop connected to SYM5/DMX1000 via ED-1032
Connectrix fibre switch. We also have an EMC and HP9000 systems at our
disaster site. We are at a point where we have out grown or Sym4 and
    Sym5
disk arrays and need to replace them and upper management is looking at
    IBM
ESS and/or FAST-T with a product called SVC (SAN Volume Control) as am
alternative to EMC. The IBM Var says this SVC can do everything that
    our
EMC SRDF, TIMEFINDER, OPTIMIZER, POWER PATH, CONTROL CENTER, etc. can do
    and
it does not care what kind of storage is connected. Does anyone have
    any
experience with SVC or that matter FAST-T/ESS good or bad. I have had
presentations on these products and read about them but would like some
actual feedback from people who have used or is using these products.
    Any
    response would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
