I have a 7044, model 270 that I'm trying to upgrade from AIX 4.3 to AIX
5.2. To do this, I built the 5.2 image on a non-production machine and
made a mksysb image to nim install on the 4.3 machine. I wasn't able to
install the image with nim, so a colleague suggested swapping hard disks.
We couldn't boot from the hard disk, or with a 5.2 CD.

At this point it occured to me that I'd forgotten to put in the requisite
firmware. Using the old 4.3 system, I upgraded the firmware with the
firmware available at the IBM site. Now I can boot from the hard disk
with 5.2 on it, but the system isn't coming up properly, eg, I can't get
sshd working on it. I think the problem is the firmware at IBM is meant
for the new 5.3 system. I'd like to put on older firmware that is known
to work with 5.2, but I don't have it.

Does anyone know where I can find older firmware that is known to work
with AIX 5.2 or able to send it to me? Is it somehow possible to copy out
the firmware on the machine I built the 5.2 image on?

    Thanks!
