hang in certain lv odm commands

Our AIX 4.3.3 server running ML06 recently began having problems with certain commands which seem to access the odm.

lsps -a hangs on the command /usr/sbin/getlvodm -l paging04

mksysb won't run nor synclvodm on any volume group hangs as well.

Anyone seen this before ? Any suggestions for ways around this problem?
