My gut instinct says it's not a real high possibility that AIX will grok firewire... especially since I haven't seen any of their machines have onboard USB ports.

Granted, I haven't looked at their adapter cards, but I have a suspicion there's no IBM adapter card for firewire, and probably not for USB... and if there's not I seriously doubt they'd support a 3rd party card. And if they don't support the 3rd party cards, there's no drivers written, which will mean there's no way for it to work - unless someone out there has written a driver for a specific card, which will probably be for a particular OS level.

It's certainly possible that I'm wrong on this... but I have a hunch I might not be ;)

    Good morning,

I was wondering if one could put in a firewire card in an AIX box (say an
F50)? Would AIX know how to talk to any connected devices? Has anyone
    tried this?

    Just curious.
