newgrp help

    Greetings,

    I am trying to understand the newgrp command.

    On certain systems here I can issue the following command:
    newgrp - somegroup

    And right after that I get a bit of text:

    "Environment 'prod' set."

    I know the script that generates that message but I cannot figure how
    it gets called by issuing the newgrp command. Can someone shed some
    light on this for me?
