Did you specify the correct location of the BFF file ? Go to that
directory and run 'inutoc .' before running smit.

I have downloaded an AIX patch for bos.net.tcp.client 5.1.0.63. This fix
loaded without a problem on our p650. I am trying to load up the same fix
on an F50 disaster recovery box - but the system is giving me the message:
#---------------------------------------------------------------------
# No filesets on the media could be used to update the currently
# installed software.
#
# Either the software is already at the same level as on the media, or
# the media contains only filesets which are not currently installed.
#---------------------------------------------------------------------
I ran the same procedure ("smit update_all" and it worked fine on the p650.
On the DR box I ran the lslpp -l bos.net.tcp.client and received the
following response:
root /> lslpp -l bos.net.tcp.client
Fileset Level State Description
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Path: /usr/lib/objrepos
bos.net.tcp.client 5.1.0.62 COMMITTED TCP/IP Client Support
Path: /etc/objrepos
bos.net.tcp.client 5.1.0.62 COMMITTED TCP/IP Client Support
root />
Why is the DR box not letting me load up a higher level of the software?
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian
