Hi *,
my /etc/resolv.conf has 3 nameserver
my /etc/netsvc.conf is local,bind
AIX is 5.2_ML02
When I start a nslookup <hostname>
(the hostname doesn't exist in the /etc/hosts)
anything runs fine.
Now I change the first entrie to a wrong IP-adress for the first
nameserver, the nslookup needs a long time to go to the second nameserver.
Now my question is, what is the parameter to tune the timeout for DNS? So
when the first nameserver is dead or has a wrong ip-adress that the
nameresolution goes faster to the second nameserver.
Best regards,
Frank Mueller
