Sounds like a fabric configuration issue since we eliminate the FC
adapter ( you can see 2 paths there ) and the storage device/switches
since FCS0 can see 4 paths. Looks like they may not have given the FCS1
all 4 paths.

I haven't set up any VGs using these disks yet. I've explained the
situation to our SAN Switch admin to ask him to double check the
configuration. Like you said, it seems like I only have two paths to
fcs1.
Perhaps the mapping on the switch.....

Looks like fcs1 only has 2 paths to the disk.

Subject: vpath vs hdisk question
Hello everyone,
Quick question about Shark storage. I'm connecting an AIX5.1 ML3 box to
a
shark. Everything seems normal except when I do an lsdev -Cc disk, I see
Two Vpaths (which I expect) but I see four hdisks for fcs0 and only two
hdisks for fcs1.
This isn't normal is it?
lsdev -Cc disk
hdisk0 Available 40-60-00-4,0 16 Bit LVD SCSI Disk Drive
hdisk1 Available 40-60-00-8,0 16 Bit LVD SCSI Disk Drive
vpath0 Available Data Path Optimizer Pseudo Device Driver
vpath1 Available Data Path Optimizer Pseudo Device Driver
hdisk2 Available 11-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
hdisk3 Available 11-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
hdisk4 Available 11-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
hdisk5 Available 11-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
hdisk6 Available 14-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
hdisk7 Available 14-08-01 IBM FC 2105800
lsdev -Cc adapter | grep fcs
fcs0 Available 11-08 FC Adapter
fcs1 Available 14-08 FC Adapter
Filesets that I am running:
devices.sdd.51.rte 1.5.0.0
devices.common.IBM.fc.rte 5.1.0.51
devices.fcp.disk.array.rte 5.1.0.61
devices.fcp.disk.rte 5.1.0.58
devices.fcp.tape.rte 5.1.0.52
I don't know if it makes a difference but there are two luns mapped that
are 840 Gb each. Each fibre-channel adapter is configured to use four
ports
on the shark.
Thank you all in advance.
