    From the 6M1 Service Guide:
    The following FRUs are hot-pluggable:
    * Some PCI adapters of an I/O drawer
    * Power supplies in an I/O drawer or CEC drawer (if the drawer has two
    power supplies and only one needs to be removed)
    * Rear fans on the CEC drawers

    From the same manual, the first step to remove the tape drive is to power
    off the system.

    So no.
