grep will find ALL entries.
What is the command "lsnfsmount"? I do not have that on any of my AIX
boxes?

Re: Mount CD-ROM/DVD-RAM
Can you make sure there is not another /cdrom entry in /etc/filesystems ?
I forgot that grep will find the first entry and mount will look @ the
last iteration. Could you send your /etc/filesystems ?
Lamar

Hello Lamar,
Here's the output:
16:ROOT > grep -p cdrom /etc/filesystems
/cdrom:
dev = /dev/cd0
vfs = cdrfs
mount = false

Can you send the following:
grep -p cdrom /etc/filesystems
or see if the attribute NODE is defined in the /cdrom stanza ?
What did you use a the type of vfs ? Sounds like /etc/filesystems thinks
/cdrom is an NFS filesystem.

Subject: Mount CD-ROM/DVD-RAM
Good morning to all,
Just wondering if some of you already experienced this and found a
solution.
We have a pSeries server (7029-6C3), we were able to use the
CD-ROM/DVD-RAM Drive to create mksysbs. The problem started when we
attached an external LTO tape drive, we found out that we cannot use the
same channel of the adapter internal and external (FC 6203), so we
reconnected the library to the other channel to resolve the conflict. But
still, the CD-ROM/DVD-RAM ceased to operate and we can't even mount it
anymore.
IBM Technician already replaced the adapter and drive and we also upgraded
the microcode level, but still we cannot get it working, it can't even
pass the test/diagnostics using a CD ROM test disc.
Here's a strange error message I'm getting when I try to mount the
/dev/cd0 to /cdrom:
'cannot mount /dev/cd0 on /cdrom: A remote host did not respond within the
timeout period'
/cdrom file system exist.
thanks in advance,
