I checked the /etc/filesystems and there's only 1 /cdrom file system
listed.
IBM Tech. support also suggested removing the drive and adapter after
they were replaced and ran cfgmgr to re-discover the devices.
rmdev -dl cd0
rmdev -dl scsi4 (adapter)
cfgmgr
I can see cd0 in the 'diag' screen. I also created the /cdrom file
system using smitty. Not sure why I need to re-export the CD-ROM/DVD-RAM
drive as I'm trying to mount it locally.

Let's start with the 'diag -a' command and see what that says. Please
send output. It appears to me as if the /dev/cd0 is mounted via NFS.
Issue the 'mount' command to verify, and if so 'umount /dev/cd0'.
Also,
issue the command 'lsnfsmount'.

Subject: Mount CD-ROM/DVD-RAM
Good morning to all,
Just wondering if some of you already experienced this and found a
solution.
We have a pSeries server (7029-6C3), we were able to use the
CD-ROM/DVD-RAM Drive to create mksysbs. The problem started when we
attached an external LTO tape drive, we found out that we cannot use
the
same channel of the adapter internal and external (FC 6203), so we
reconnected the library to the other channel to resolve the conflict.
But still, the CD-ROM/DVD-RAM ceased to operate and we can't even
mount
it anymore.
IBM Technician already replaced the adapter and drive and we also
upgraded the microcode level, but still we cannot get it working, it
can't even pass the test/diagnostics using a CD ROM test disc.
Here's a strange error message I'm getting when I try to mount the
/dev/cd0 to /cdrom:
'cannot mount /dev/cd0 on /cdrom: A remote host did not respond within
the
timeout period'
/cdrom file system exist.
thanks in advance,
Librado Pamintuan
