    Juan,

Could it be the file you deleted be another file system? We have file
systems that have the same root directory. For example... /filesys and
/filesys/test are two file systems that have the same root directory.
If I remove a file from /filesys/test it will not make a difference in
    space in the /filesys filesystem.

    HTH

Subject: delete big file doesn't free space on filesystem

    Hi,

I've p650 with AIX 5.1 ML 04 and Oracle, I tried free some space in a
filesystem deleting a big file 2GB> but after do rm, df -k doesn't show
any change on freespace. So I need umount - mount the filesystem to
    correct freespace.
There is a fix solve this issue?
Would be great if someone can let me know.
