    What about lftp @ http://lftp.yar.ru/ ? Never used it; but it seems to
    have the requirements you need. UCLA has a precompiled version if you
    need it @

    We need to receive one file daily from a bank;

    - https w 128bit ssl

    - ftp client over ssl

    - ftp over vpn

    The 3rd option will not work because my network
    person does not want to do this ( he doesn't
    cooperate )

    The first option will not work using curl,
    because the bank will not allow access to files
    via a url

    The bank is using an Apache webserver and Sterling Commerce ftp
    over ssl

    I think if I had an ftp client over ssl - other than curl -
    it would work... or be able to simulate a live user over
    https ......

    Sftp cannot be used because the client
    will not support it - won't use it.

    I would prefer ssh - I have many ssh clients -
    but my hands are tied.

    Is it possible to run native ftp over the AIX toolbox
    ssl ? I have an application to a bank that requires it.
    The system is AIX 5.1.
