    Sounds like the disk has the SCSI busy bit set. Try this...

    lquerypr -pvh /dev/hdisk#

    We had a FC emulux adapter fail on an IBM H50, AIX 5.1 last night, the
    adapter was replaced, the H50 recognized the disk, but it had no PVID.
    When we attempted to run some low level commands to view the PVID, the
    system produced the message that the volume is busy.

    Any ideas on how to verify the disk is still available?
