            Here's the problem (according to IBM);

            AIX 5.2 base install media prior to release -04 (not ML04) does not have the fileset prerequisites I require (see my original post). According to IBM, the media release can be determined by looking at the CD label on the install media; the media has a 'lcd-113-0X', where 'X' is currently a number between 1 and 6. You need X >= 4 release of the media in order to have the 5.2.0.0 release of devices.pci.77101223.rte.

            I have yet to confirm all this myself. The info above is based on an hour I spent on the phone this AM with IBM tech support.

            To recap, the problem I have is that when I try to install the ML04 filesets (as Justin referenced below), I get a prerequisite fileset failure for the original 5.2.0.0 version (which, as noted above, was not included on the first few releases of the 5.2 install media). Make sense?

            Thanks for all the replies.

            Chris

    Hi Guys,
    This wrote Justin Bleistein 2005.02.18 15:40:

    I found on the v5.2 install cd these filesets may be helpful:

    devices.pci.77101223.com 05.02.0000.0040 1 b B en_US PCI FC Adapter
    (77101223) Common Software
    /lpp/devices.pci.77101223 32
    devices.pci.77101223.rte 05.02.0000.0040 1 b U en_US PCI FC Adapter
    (77101223) Runtime Software
    *coreq devices.pci.77101223.com 5.2.0.0
    devices.pci.77101223.diag 05.02.0000.0040 1 N U en_US PCI FC Adapter

    Actually these cd's are on ML 04, the issue date is 08/2004
