Generally, 5.3 is supported on any CHRP box, but ONLY CHRP.
There are some specific adapters which aren't supported.
Full details can be found in the AIX 5L Version 5.3 Release Notes, Appendix
A.

I'm not sure though. 5.1 supported all microchannels and pci models. 5.2 supported earlier pci models as long as they were: "chrp" architecture: "bootinfo -p". 5.3 I believe is for the higher end/newer chrp/pci systems. Basically we need to port our software to AIX 5.3. What is a suitable machine for AIX 5.3? We are leaning towards a "IBM eServer p5 510". Basically I am looking for the cheapest machine I can load AIX 5.3. TIA Prasad -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
