    Couple things to keep in mind. Unless they have changed it recently, AIX
    will not support using a vpath device in rootvg. This means you need to add
    the rootvg LUN ID and DEVICE NAME to the /etc/vpexclude file if you have
    multiple paths. The details are in the SDD documentation. One alternative
    is to assign one LUN to one HBA and another LUN to a second HBA. You can
    then mirror rootvg between the two. You just want to make sure the paths to
    each LUN are going into adapters either on different clusters on the F20 or
    at least different HBA bays.

    If you boot up into SMS mode it will initialize the HBA to the point that
    you can see the WWN on the SAN and do all of your zoning, host setup on the
    Shark, and LUN work.
