    We try quite hard to share knowledge of particular systems. Technicians can
    be a single point of failure, too!

    Exactly. No problem as long there are enough (IŽd say 6-7) people in the
    unix-team.
    The problem is not only that the person gets ill. He might run into a
    problem with a system that only the person that knows this one system best
    can fix.
    For us its a matter of course that everybody has a cellular and can be
    called anytime.
