all I know is that starting from some aix5 version grep/vi can handle
longer lines; the amount depends on this attribute of sys0
ncargs 6 ARG/ENV list size in 4K byte blocks

the bigger you set it, the longer lines grep/vi can handle
you could also use diff to see if there is a difference between those
binaries

Has grep been upgarded in some ML for AIX 5.2?
I have 2 machines,. one a base level , one at ML 1 and grep works
differently. The latest versioin seems to handle lines > 2048
Can anyone confirm this?
