If you want to talk Gigabit, set it for Auto Negotiate. When it hooks
up to a Full-duplex Gigabit switch, or hub, it'll set itself properly.
If you want to talk 100 Full, though, you'll probably need to set it to
100 Full both on the host and at the switch.
If you're truly connected in a Gigabit network, you'd never want to
hook up at 100 Full. You'd be cutting out a factor of 10 worth of
speed.

Hi *,
I got some LPAR's using 10/100/1000 Base-TX PCI-X Adapter connected in
a Gigabit Ethernet Network. The question is:
- Which Media Speed should I use, since the adapter is a 1000 Mbps Full
Duplex, and the available options are 10 Half, 10 Full, 100 Half, 100
Full and Auto-Negotiation?
Some gurus say I may use Auto-Negotiation, and some other say I should
use 100 Full Duplex....
Which one is the most right?
Regards,
Alexandre Sato.
