Thanks to all of you, your response has been brilliant.
I managed to sort out the password issue earlier, thanks ku. I tried both
the solutions from IBM and Metalink, thanks Lamar. It was the license file.
I've restored it from a backup the previous build and now the script runs
better, it still has an error but this looks distinctly oracle related so
it's over to the dba.
You have no idea how grateful I am, thank you very much

We have a machine running AIX 5.2, tivoli amd the TDP for Oracle v5.2.
When tring to use rman to backup Oracle I get the following message:

IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 2512: System call error number 2512.
The normal Tivoli backup software works fine. I've searched and found a
few ideas, relinking, checking permissions, making sure all the paths in
scripts are correct, I've tried all of them and I still can't get it to
work.
I would be really grateful if anyone could help with any more
suggestions.
