    no, they dont need licenses
    its enough to update oracle from 8.x to 9.x - we did it many times here

    hi,

    o.k. I find this with lslpp-commands. I was not surely whether the
    licencs additionally need or buy.

    So I think that I don't need a addtitional Software (C or C++ Compiler)
    and no additional license. And the standard AIX is enough for my oracle
    update.
    Is this correct?

    those files are part of bos.adt.base and bos.rte.bind_cmds has nothing
    to do with xlc

    xlc.rte is on the cds

    we must update our SAP 4.6C System on AIX 5.2_ML02. The SAP runs in the
    moment on a oracle 8.1.7.3 and we must update to oracle 9.2.0.6

    Now our SAP-Admin say he need for this update the make-, ar-, ld-, nm-
    commands

    Must I buy the C- or C++ Compiler/Licence or ist this default by AIX
    5.2?
