Define "fair prices." My experience has been with the decommissioning
of old expensive equipment is to donate the hardware and coordinate such
activities with the CFO for final sign-off, because you may save the
company more money immediately by donating, rather than trying to sell
it for a "fair price." Buying computers is much like buying a car--as
soon as you drive off the lot is looses great value! Keep this point in
mind. Sometimes leasing is the better way to go, especially for the
accounting department who can "keep it simple." Of course, a
cost-benefit-analysis is always in order.
Concerning fair prices--search and find those companies who are saying
"Take this old piece of hardware from me now at $500.00 and you pay the
shipping." The shipping costs exceed the cost of old equipment.
I hope this helps.

Subject: Who buys used hardware?
Hi,
We have recently decommissioned a 7026-M80 and a number of related
peripherals, and are looking to dispose of the hardware.
Does anyone have recommendations for companies that purchase/refurb
old hardware at fair prices?
Thanks -
