According to my AIX 5L internals book - "A Data Store Interrupt occurs
whenever a reference is made to a virtual address that is not currently
loaded in physical memory". In other words a page fault. Page faults happen
all of the time. But for some reason VMM couldn't handle this one. This
could be a software or hardware problem. Have you updated AIX or devices
drivers recently? Are there other entries in the error log along with this
one?
One more thing, in the AIX Internals class we were taught how to cause a
DSI (from the command line) in order to get a system dump. It is
surprisingly easy but you have to be root to do it. You haven't had any of
your AIX administrators attend the internals class lately?
