We have some servers that run a different part of our company in an FM data centre.
This mornng I heard (second hand) that one of their SAP application servers (M80 running AIX 4.3.3 - not sure what ML) had a disk failure on one of the mirrored SCSI disks in rootvg. All other VGs are on a SAN.
They then had to reboot the server, because the application processes starting failing.
Sorry this is a bit vague, I do not have access to these boxes.
Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of this.
We have never lost a rootvg SCSI disk on any of the boxes supported by our team, but I would expect everything to continue and just hot swap the disk as we do with SSA disks.
Regards,
Colin
