    Or maybe you are referring to the fact that you can create a TSM backup
    tape and use that to restore a client without having a TSM server ?
    This is a specially crated tape and not the normal backup tapes created
    by TSM. We do not use that feature and I do not specifically remember
    the name of the feature.

    One other question, people here (non admins) think we can run without
    the server software and use only the client. Can this really be done?
     They quoted things they read (which they can't find now).

    My question would be is what does server handle and what does client
    handle?
