The Printronix printer will be set to some emulation, Epson, LP+, etc

Set the printer into Hex dump mode.

Send it data after defining it as Printronix and review the printout so obtained.

I don't know if your system is sending out any control codes (for font control, etc), if it is, then likely the printer is not able to understand the control codes (aka escape sequences).

Then don't do that... No seriously... Correct me if I'm wrong but the Printronix
is not an IBM printer - so unless it says that it is compatible with an IBM printer,
then you shouldn't really be trying to set it up as one.

It's probably worth trying to set it up as a printer attached to a remote host. Read
the reference manual to determine the correct lp printer queue to use for your situation
(ie, should it strip carriage returns etc ?).

ie, select remote, select standard processing, create your queue - but be aware that you may
have to play with the print spooler type ( probably try the System V or BSD first).

    Hope this helps,

    Bruce Whittaker. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
