    Read this redbook when you can. The Oracle chapters really explain
    everything
    from a basic Oracle database/AIX performance standpoint.

    Folks,

    Any Oracle gurus out there?

    What should "tunables" be set for Oracle 9i?
    Should there be any additional tunable paramaters set?
