    Not Suse exactly, but I installed RedHat Enterprise 4 on a 7044-270.

    Problems I ran into:
    * The GXT130P wasn't supported by the Linux kernel -- I expect this
    would apply to Suse as well. I used a serial console, which worked
    fine.
    * Apparently, the Linux kernel doesn't serialize module loading --
    this caused a panic on my 4-way box. Don't know if this applies to
    Suse.

    I'd be interested in your experiences, as well as why you decided on
    Linux on PowerPC (instead of AIX, or Linux on x86).
