It does. In the past ML's came out 3-4 times a
year. Their new strategy is twice a year, but, it hasn't taken hold
yet. From: IBM AIX Discussion List [mailto:aix-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Patrick B. O'Brien Sent: Monday, January 30, 2006 11:30 AM To: aix-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: red hat needs kernel updates once a month, how does aix get around that? My Red Hat ES3 Server needs kernel
updates about once a month, meaning an ipl, what a
bummer! Sure nice to have AIX, where an ML
comes out about once every 9 months. During my AIX ML updates, I never
see anything in any logs saying something like, “kernel updated”.
How does AIX update its kernel, or
does it? TIA. |
