Re: USB support in AIX - NOT!

The P5 HMC also supports saving the data to a DVD-RAM.

"No wonder people are swarming to Windows."

That's funny ^^

:)

Hi:

There isn't much on this subject in the archives.

How good is USB support in AIX 5.3? What type of devices will it support?
I would like to plug in a USB stick to update some firmware on a machine
(p570 which has USB port) that is not on the network.

Here's a sad joke: The HMC (Linux) for this also has a USB port but the
software only supports saving data to a floppy. But there is no installed
floppy! State of the art, my ass! LPARs, slicing 1/10th of a CPU and other
neat stuff but I can't even connect a ubiquitous $50 peripheral to save
time. I really wonder where this corporation's priorities lie. No wonder
people are swarming to Windows.

Thanks for letting me vent.
