Access AIX system from different network subnet

I have an AIX 4.x system running and have to access it from a different network subnet. Up to this point all access was from the same building and subnet (172.20.18.0). Someone from a different building, and subnet (172.20.30.0) needs access to the server but is unable to connect. I can ping from one subnet to the other so I know layer 2 is okay and can access Windows Servers on the other subnet so I know layer 3 is okay. The problems appears to be with AIX no accepting the connection, which makes sense from a security standpoint. The problem is I don't know where that setting would be to allow 172.20.30.0 to access the AIX Server (172.20.18.2). Can anyone shed some light on what needs to be changed/modified to allow connectivity between subnets.
