Re: mksysb reloaded after raid configured

Just boot from the CD and install from the maintenace option. It will
load the necessary drivers and restore the MKSYSB for you. Common
procedure for cloning or doing what you are talking about...

The only "gotchas" are if the rootvg was mirrored. You will have to
edit the bosinst.data to reflect only one copy of the LV for restoration
and run the MKSYSB without the -i option or break the mirrors and do the
MKSYSB.

Subject: Re: mksysb reloaded after raid configured

mmmm, probably the drivers of RAID adapter only can be loaded AFTER AIX
is
up an running. AIX can't see any boot drive with this configuration.
(Hardware RAID except LUN Disks)

I am running AIX V5.3 on a 9113 p5-550.

If I made a mksysb tape with a bootable image BEFORE I configured RAID
on
the 550,
would I be able to restore the contents of the mksysb tape (bootable
tape)
on the NEW
disk configuration?

Thanks,
