6H1's require a microcode upgrade to run 5.3. I believe the version
from last summer would be sufficient.
You could set up a server as a nim server and boot over the network. It
would work at 4.3 and 5.3, but, the nim server would have to be 5.3.

Subject: 4.3.3 to 5.3
Folks,
We are about to upgrade one of our servers (6H1) from
4.3.3 ML11 to 5.3.3
What concerns me is the inability to boot from the CDroms we have 4.3.3
ML3 to reinstall the mksysb if anything goes wrong.
Has anyone else faced this dilemna?
Thanks!
