Anyone have any tips on configuring snmp on Aix.
We have an snmp management station setup and by just providing it with the ip_address of my servers I can get lots of node details like logical volumes and load average statistics. This seems to be the case with the Aix 5.x servers only though.
On the 4.3.3 servers I can only discover the network adapters.
If I check the /etc/snmpd.conf file they seem to be using the same default config.
What might I be missing on the 4.3.3 servers?
Mark
Actually snmp agent capabilities were changed in migration from 4.3 to 5
there is a few good tips in "AIX farms" redbook (if I remember title
corectly)
I hope this helps
