did you try fuser command: see if any one is writing
any sparece file.Have you checked var /tmp

cp /dev/null /var/adm/wtmp
cp /dev/null /var/adm/cron/log
cp /dev/null /etc/security/failedlogin
cp /dev/null /var/spool/mail/root

killing processes by name (in this example we kill the
process called netscape):
kill `ps auxww | grep pstat | egrep -v grep | awk
'{print $2}'`
or with awk alone:
ps auxww | awk '$0~/pstat/&&$0!~/awk/{print $2}'
|xargs kill
