You can erase the disk during the install process. It is on one of the
"More Options" screens, follow that with an "New and Complete"
installation on all the disk and you should be good.

Format everything and re-install from CD. There's no easy - or even
quite difficult! - way you can actually erase the data on the final disk
whilst it's in use: recovery of deleted data in those circumstances
would be relatively easy. Anything you might attempt would surely be
more trouble than re-installing.
I suppose that having an OS installed is useful to demonstrate that
everything is working, but the first thing I would do if I bought such a
system would be to re-install AIX myself.

Another department at UCLA wants to sell
an AIX system after deleting the user data
from it.
The system only has a rootvg, mirrored over
4 disks. They don't want to delete the OS,
thinking that they need the OS running to sell
the hardware.
I think if I drop the rootvg mirrors
and format the 3 disks that will zap the data on the 3 disks.
I am not sure going thru the remaining rootvg
disk will eliminate all user data references.
Any ideas out there ?
