Yes. Looks like the same screen you get when you go into... "System
Recovery". Sorry, I just think it is funny the option to erase disks is
under the Maintenance / System Recovery screen.

I've not noticed that before. I suspect that like a lot of people I
tend to stick with the things I'm familiar with!
Does it give you all the options for multiple passes and overwriting
with different types of data? (Not that those are all that necessary in
most cases: I'm just interested.)

You can erase the disk during the install process. It is on one
of the "More Options" screens, follow that with an "New and Complete"
installation on all the disk and you should be good.

Format everything and re-install from CD. There's no easy - or
even quite difficult! - way you can actually erase the data on the final
disk whilst it's in use: recovery of deleted data in those circumstances
would be relatively easy. Anything you might attempt would surely be
more trouble than re-installing.
I suppose that having an OS installed is useful to demonstrate
that everything is working, but the first thing I would do if I bought
such a system would be to re-install AIX myself.
